Uninstalling Conduit

I must've downloaded your conduit engine when I downloaded vuze / winamp / some other software that relies on 3rd party ad-software for funding.

I know I do not have the toolbar as I do not see "conduit toolbar" or any other toolbars on my IE / Chrome, but when I use the address bar to search, it uses the conduit engine.

The searches are the same result I would get with google.com search; however, it's annoying to have to see 5-6 advertisements on top before I get the items I am actually searching for. I don't know how you guys think this is effective marketing as I never read any of those ads, but I guess you're capturing those small percent of people who reads  and believes in everything.

Anyways, the problem:
I found this page instructing in how to uninstall: http://www.conduit.com/faq/Conduit-Open/Your-Apps/Conduit-Engine.aspx . it says for IE users, uninstall the engine in Add/Remove programs ... I went to add/remove programs and there is nothing Conduit related at all or anything out of the ordinary.

I got chrome to work properly now as I reinstalled it and selected not to import anything from IE8.

So how do I remove your service from IE8?

Found the answer. Please add this to your guide as a last resort:

To reset internet explorer:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737

There is a button where you can have microsoft's MSI script do it for you or instructions on manually setting it towards the bottom.

So happy to have the stupid ads I don't read on the right and images with my searches again!

Update:

Found 2 files in:

C:\\Documents and Settings\\[My User Name]\\Local Settings\\Temporary Internet Files

that began with the word "conduit". One of them was a javascript the other was something else. I deleted the two files but conduit still takes over my search...
